About Student Grievance Cell

The Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) aims to create and maintain a supportive, unbiased educational environment. The committee allows students to express their concerns by initiating and following the grievance procedure as per the rules and regulations of the institute. The SGRC investigates and evaluates the nature and patterns of grievances in a highly confidential manner. The committee places a strong emphasis on procedural fairness, ensuring that students are granted the right to be heard and the right to be treated without bias.

objectives

1. Ensuring Fair Treatment of Students:
– To ensure that students are treated fairly, without bias, and that their grievances are addressed impartially and justly.
– To uphold the principle of “**the right to be heard**” and “**the right to be treated without bias**”.

2. Providing a Platform for Students:
– To provide students with a proper channel to express their grievances, whether academic, administrative, or related to faculty behavior.
– To ensure that all grievances are given due consideration and are resolved in a manner that is transparent and consistent.

3. Promoting a Conducive Learning Environment:
– To maintain a peaceful and productive educational environment by addressing grievances and issues that may hinder students’ academic or personal well-being.
– To foster a positive atmosphere where students feel safe, respected, and valued.

4. Maintaining Transparency and Accountability:
– To ensure transparency in addressing complaints and holding accountable those responsible for any misconduct or unfair practices.
– To ensure that the grievance redressal process is transparent, accountable, and conducted according to institutional policies and procedures.

5. Confidentiality:
– To guarantee that the grievance process is confidential, respecting the privacy of students and protecting them from any potential retaliation or prejudice.

SCOPE

The cell will deal with Grievances received in writing from the students about any of the following matters:–

  • Academic Matters: Related to timely issue of the duplicate mark–sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates, or other examination related matters.
  • Financial Matters: Related to dues and payments for various items from the library, hostels, etc.
  • Other Matters: Related to certain misgivings about conditions of sanitation, preparation of food, availability of transport, victimization by teachers, etc.

Functions

  • The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students.
  • The cell formally will review all cases and will act accordingly as per the Management policy.
  • The cell will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.
